Spring has officially begun, although I see no sign of it in Edmonton. With temperatures on the rise, I have been favouring a new set of beauty products, and opting for more floral and spring-inspired stationery as well.
I’ll be sharing some of my favourites from the month of March, and even though this post is going up a bit late, I thought, better late than never! Let’s dive right in…
Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Dark Circle Eraser – I have been struggling with dark circles under my eyes lately, and this under-eye corrector was my saviour in the month of March! The texture is super light and can be blended easily using a makeup sponge like the BeautyBlender. It does a great job at concealing the darkness under my eyes by brightening and colour correcting. I then layer a thin coat of concealer on top, as this product is just a corrector, and not a concealer.
Urban Decay Vice Lipstick – Venom – This lipstick is super creamy and pigmented; perfect for spring! It’s a great punch of colour and makes my makeup look polished and fresh, while barely making an effort. The berry shade can be sheered out and worn under a gloss for a more daytime appropriate look. It can also be worn on its own for a bold lip look. I have been wearing this at least once a week and it has definitely become a staple in my makeup kit.
Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay Mask – I dealt with a few breakouts in the month of February, thanks to all the Valentine’s chocolates I was munching on. My skin generally appeared dull and needed some pampering. I had read reviews about this particular face mask and couldn’t resist the temptation. I immediately placed an order on Amazon and it was at my doorstep two days after (thank you Prime). I mix the powder with apple cider vinegar and apply the mask all over my face and neck once or twice a week. While waiting for the mask to harden, I can feel my skin pulsate and feel all the gunk being extracted from my pores. My skin is a bit blotchy and red when I wash it off, but it calms and fades away within 15 minutes. My skin feels fresh, clean and radiant after and the results usually last for a whole week. The packaging says not to use a metal bowl or spoon, and so I’ve been using ceramic instead. I can’t stop raving about it and have convinced my sister, my mother, and some friends to buy it! Best of all, it’s completely natural and 1 pound lasts a really long time.
Drunken Elephant Mini Pekee + Juju Bars – I simplified my daily skincare routine and have been trying to incorporate more natural products. The Drunken Elephant Pekee and Juju bars were on my wishlist for a while, and I finally got my hands on them. The darker one is the Juju bar, which is to be used in the morning. It is a bit gritty in texture and offers mild exfoliation. The white bar is the Pekee bar, and it is softening and brightening on the skin. I use it in the evening and I love how refreshing and nourishing it feels. Both bars soften my skin unlike any other bar soap I’ve used before. I have noticed a difference in my skin’s texture since I began using them, and I highly recommend it to all natural beauty lovers!
Josie Maran Whipped Argan Oil Body Butter – Sweet Citrus – I don’t know about you but I’m super lazy when it comes to moisturizing my body. I don’t have the patience for the lotion to be absorbed into my skin and I usually end up skipping this step entirely. This was until I discovered the Jose Maran Whipped Argan Oil Body Butters. This particular scent (Sweet Citrus) is so refreshing and energizing, and I love using it in the morning after a shower. The body butter is absorbed very quickly by my skin and the moisture remains for upto 24 hours. My skin feels luxuriously silky smooth, and the scent is a lovely addition.
Joyous Health 10 Day Detox – My husband, Naren, and I have been eating out often and it’s been taking a toll on our bodies. I heard about the Joyous Health Cook Book from my favourite YouTuber, makeuptia. I immediately placed an order on Amazon! Naren and I followed the 10 day detox and while we did not really observe any weight loss, we generally felt lighter, less sluggish, and more energized. I have been religiously drinking warm lemon water every single morning since we did the detox, and I am glad that it’s now a part of my morning routine. If you’re looking at ditching and detoxing your body, then I highly recommend this! Being a vegetarian, Joy McCarthy also offers customized meal plans that are extremely easy to follow and adapt. I really enjoyed this detox and I think I will have to do this on a monthly basis moving forward!
Rifle Paper iPhone Case – Clear Rosa – I looooove Rifle Paper Co and I was on the hunt for a floral phone case. That’s when I came upon this particular phone case during one of my visits to Anthropologie. I love the colors and the floral pattern so much! The gold metallic detailing adds a glam factor and everything about this phone case makes me extremely happy!
Pilot Juice 0.38mm Black – I’m obsessed with stationery and I especially love collecting pens. This particular pen was also recommended by Ashley (makeuptia) on YouTube. The pen writes super fine and my handwriting looks great when I use it. The ink flow is consistent and the comfortable grip is helpful too. I bought a pack of 10 and have a pen in my desk at work, in my study room, beside my bed, in my purse, basically everywhere. If you like pens and want something that writes super fine without drying out too quickly, then this is it!
