Saddened to hear that the movie, Padmavati, by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, starring Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, and Shahid Kapoor will not be releasing on the announced release date (December 1). It is really unfortunate that as a director, Bhansali is not being permitted artistic license to explore and experiment, though the story is a historical drama.
Sure, these may have been real-life incidents, but Bhansali was only delivering his interpretation, and not attempting to change the historical records. The man should be allowed to express himself as a visionary artist.
My husband and I were looking forward to December 1 for so long, and to hear that the movie isn’t being launched is utterly disappointing. To commemorate this unfortunate event, I’d like to share some artwork inspired by the Rajput queen, Rani Padmavati.
Check out my previous blog post to get step-by-step instructions on how to recreate these regal showpieces.
The ever-elegant Deepika Padukone portraying Rani Padmavati.
The handsome Raja, Shahid Kapoor.
Here’s to hoping that the movie does get released, and that people educate themselves and remain open-minded.
